Copper Wire Weight Calculator

Estimated Weight

N/A

Weight of the copper wire based on its gauge and length.

Calculate the Weight of Copper Wire

The Copper Wire Weight Calculator allows you to easily estimate the weight of a given length of copper wire without needing a scale. This is useful for project planning, material ordering, and for estimating the value of scrap copper.

How It Works

The calculator uses standard American Wire Gauge (AWG) dimensions and the density of copper to find the weight. You need to provide:

  • Wire Gauge (AWG): Select the gauge of the wire from the dropdown list. The calculator has standard diameter data for AWG sizes 0 through 40.
  • Length: Enter the total length of the wire. You can specify the length in either meters or feet.
  • The tool instantly calculates the wire's volume and multiplies it by the density of copper (8960 kg/m³) to give you an accurate weight in kilograms (kg). This simplifies material management and cost estimation for any electrical or construction project.
