The AP World History: Modern exam assesses your understanding of historical concepts from c. 1200 to the present. The score is derived from four distinct parts of the exam, each with its own weight.

Exam Breakdown:

  • Section 1A: Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ): 55 questions, accounting for 40% of the score.
  • Section 1B: Short Answer Questions (SAQ): 3 questions, making up 20% of the score.
  • Section 2A: Document-Based Question (DBQ): 1 essay, worth 25% of the score.
